Donor Development Manager – Dallas, TX
Family First is seeking an experienced development manager to join our growing team. Reporting to the director of development, this role is responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of mid-level and emerging major donors throughout North and West Texas.
The ideal candidate is a relational, organized, and metrics-driven fundraiser who can authentically communicate Family First’s mission, cultivate meaningful donor relationships, and inspire supporters to increased levels of generosity and involvement, while promptly and accurately using and updating our CRM and other internal systems.
Job Description
- Manage a portfolio of mid-level and emerging major donors, developing individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans to increase retention and revenue.
- Secure new donors through campaigns, events, and individual communication.
- Conduct ongoing donor engagement through in-person meetings, virtual meetings, phone calls, handwritten notes, and other personalized communication.
- Analyze donor data and reports to monitor and drive activity among new, current, and lapsed donors.
- Partner with the events team to plan and execute donor-engagement events in assigned markets.
- Partner with the grants team to plan and execute grant proposals and updates for foundation and corporate donors within assigned markets.
- Document all donor interactions and donor research promptly and accurately within the CRM (HubSpot), maintaining excellent portfolio records and task management.
- Track and report on key performance indicators, including meetings secured, touchpoints completed, portfolio movement, and revenue progress.
- Contribute input to donor campaigns, planned giving communications, and organization-wide development initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising, business development, or relational sales
- Demonstrated success in cultivating relationships and closing gifts or deals
- Strong interpersonal skills and high relational EQ
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to share the mission, impact, and vision compellingly
- Experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar CRMs strongly preferred
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort working toward clear metrics and goals
- Willingness and ability to travel for donor meetings and events (approximately 25–50%)
